Ordering the book

Please note that College Green is a UK-based publisher and so your payment transaction will be processed in the UK. Some banks and credit card companies may block online international payments if a card is not used frequently for such transactions. If you experience difficulty in placing your order, please contact your bank or credit card company to advise them that they should approve the transaction. Furthermore, some credit cards may charge a user fee for making an international payment. Please contact your bank or credit card company for more information as to whether such a fee applies to your card type. Delivery times

Books are shipped weekdays via UPS from Chicago. Allow 5 working days for delivery to most US mainland destinations, although during the Holidays season this could be longer. For a UPS tracking number please contact info@thecarolinabook.com


International Orders

Please email us your requirements to info@thecarolinabook.com We can take a manual payment from you once we have secured and agreed the best shipping solution for you. Books are either shipped from the USA or Europe based on economy or efficiency.


Problems with ordering

College Green is a UK-based publisher and so your payment transaction will be processed in the UK. We have become aware that some US banks and credit card companies have arrangements in place that block online international payments if a card is not used frequently for such transactions. Therefore, if you experience any difficulty in placing your order with us, please contact your bank or credit card company to advise them that they should approve the transaction when you place the order. This should ensure that your order can be processed smoothly.


Purchasing a copy as a gift

Carolina would make a highly original gift for a friend or family member. The book can be delivered directly to the recipient.


Changing an order

Returns and refunds

We want you to be completely satisfied with every purchase you make from us. In the event that there is a problem with the goods you receive, you may return them to us providing that they have not been used and that you take reasonable care of them until we receive them from you. In this event, we will offer you a refund (excluding any shipping costs) or exchange within 30 days of you terminating the purchase agreement. You will bear the cost of returning the goods to us as well as any associated charges inclusive of administration fees. We recommend that you use a traceable service when returning goods as we are unable to accept responsibility for returns that fail to arrive.

Goods can be returned to us provided:
Please examine the goods on delivery in case they are damaged, missing or faulty. In the event that they have been delivered damaged or faulty, you must inform us of this fact within 14 days of receipt. We will refund return postage and replacement at our expense. You should inform us of the issue by contacting info@thecarolinabook.com. Please ensure that the original packaging is kept for examination.

If anything goes wrong we will always aim to fix any problems (no matter how small) in a respectful and courteous manner. Should you have a query please email info@thecarolinabook.com. Acknowledgements for photographs College Green has worked closely with the UNC Archives and the archives' staff have passed on copyright holders' details (where known) for the images we have used, including the names of the photographers. However, in some instances the copyright holders and/or photographers are unknown to the archives' staff and therefore unfortunately we have not been able to include full acknowledgements for those photographs. Should you be the copyright holder or photographer for any of the unacknowledged photographs we have used and you wish to be acknowledged in any future reprint, please email your details to info@thecarolinabook.com and we will be delighted to add your name to the acknowledgements.
